Rules and Procedures
I am so excited to be teaching first grade here at Spring Place Elementary! I feel that together we can make this a terrific year. I think that it is very important to have clear communication between home and the school, so here is a copy of the classroom rules, my behavior plan, and my contact information. Please go over the classroom rules and behavior plan with your child and I will also go over these things here at school. I would really appreciate any suggestions or helpful hints you could share with me about your child. For example, your child's likes/dislikes, fears/phobias, etc. Also, if you have ANY questions or concerns about ANYTHING, please let me know. I want this to be a great year in your child's academic career, so anything that I can do to make that happen, I will gladly try. Class Rules 1. Try your personal best! 2. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. 3. Be a polite listener. 4. Show respect for teachers, classmates, and school property. 5. Raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking.
Color Coded Behavior System: We will be using a 6-color card system along with points to keep track of great behavior choices. At the end of each day, I will chart the color they earned for the day. On Friday, they will add up their points to see if they will be awarded a treasure box pick. To earn treasure box they need to earn at least 14 points with 25 being the maximum. Blue = 5 points, an excellent day! = choice of sticker or sweet treat
**Major discipline problems will result in an office referral.**
